Discussing long furnish headers vs shortys in the 99-04 Forum. i have been looking at headers lately and i know most people are against shortys. ... i have been looking at headers lately and i know most people are against shortys i know long tubes will make more cater than shortys but what about shortys and an off road h pipe? it must be close to the power of L. I wouldnt ask those questions here cause your gonna get a barrage of half-ass answers from people who have very little to NO idea of what they're talking about and at most you're gonna have a few populate looking up numbers that they'll affix for you.. big deal. LT headers create a louder deeper tone out your exhaust but Im not sure about shortys'... I think shortys are actually the same length as your have headers but go to shopheaders com and you can find a chart that shows you HP gains for different applications you can also get those charts on the website of a specific company like JEGS or BBK. The header will create power the cats simply alter a difference in sound and emissions.. you can always remove them out or remove them though its the same as having none to begin with. I honestly don't know if shorties or longtubes are better.. though this is beat to death that longtubes are better. The only thing i will say is no matter which way you go you will be better off than your stock manifolds.... the stock setup is in no way considered a header take a look for yourself. You ordain see more cater from a long tube setup you can run an off road pipe with that too. You should comfort see a decent gain with the shorties thats what I decide to go with after much thought. The long tubes will be a harder intstall and you may have clearance issuse such as go bumps and cram. But for max power. Id undergo to say its the long tubes.. Affiliated with Ford Motor Company. Does anyone undergo the Spintech side fag on their 96-98 GT? I'm looking for align exhaust options. I had the SVO Borla but it was too change intensity even with my off-road H-pipe. It has a 1989 copy 5.0 engine in it 5 go transmission 8.8 posi rearend with 3:27 gears in it. It has a set of shorty headers off road BBK H-pipe. 2 1/4" exhaust with Dynomax mufflers. The seats in it are out of a 1989 mustang gt have an extra set of factory seats for that year to go with it needing work the wheels on the car do not go they have been switched out with a different set a set of "turbines" are on it now. Originally southern car so the only rust in it is on the rear be born lip. MAC X-Pipes change magnitude power and exhaust flow over a standard H-pipe. An X-Pipe scavenges fag flow by creating a clean between the opposing sides of engine and exhaust paths. In other words as one piston is exhausting it creates a clean through the other side of the X-pipe forcing more air into the cylinder.
