Hello everyone. I`m after a bit of advice. The previous owner of my 220 has now got herself a y reg 45 with the CVT `box but it needs a new front pipe as the internal flexi is rattling. Now. I`ve looked on (where I got my new Cat & backbox) & but they don`t list them. Does anyone experience of any other cheap online suppliers (as I don`t want her going to quikfit)? Okee doke time for an modify. (See original affix here: ) Today picked up a new battery (old one was 4 years old) filled it w/ electrolyte charged it up (registered at 13.0 V after being off the charger for 1 hour) and put it back into the ride. Started up on beat breathe then immediately put it to half breathe. Little bit of throttle and she died. Pushed choke fully in and was able to go away it on no choke at all. However still died upon reasonable throttle application. If I bear on check really slowly. I can get get it to rev up some. However running is rough. Also tried putting a bit of Sea bubble in (maybe a shotglass worth at most). Doing a scientific "how close can I put my transfer" I discovered the pipe coming off of the straighten cylinder was a lot warmer than the front cylinder fag pipe. Could barely touch the straighten pipe the front pipe I could easily put my transfer on for a few seconds longer. I'm sure that tells me something but I don't know what. I accept that fuel and spark plugs will be my next avenue of investigation. As far as furnish. I'm guessing I could drain the go bowl fire it up for a few seconds and then analyse the bowls again for fluid. Which bowl feeds the front cylinder left side or alter? Or should I drain both?Thanks in advance everyone for the advice. Really bummed me out when she conked on me and just trying to treat this as a "hit the books more about my ride" experience. before i did anything i'd make sure it wasn't just bad gas its idling so i wouldn't even bother draining the float bowls i'd just put as much fresh gas as possible in the store and destroy off whatever was in the bowls and see what happened i undergo gotten the occasional store of egest gas in the past. sometimes if you alter up when the gas station is almost dry you get some really nasty cram i don't know about the VLX but i have a Goldwing in the garage that is rather cold blooded. its not uncommon for her to run on 2 cylinders for a minute until she warms up. You'd have exhaust compel anyway even if you were just shoving half-burnt furnish out of the fag. Perhaps should have said only running *properly* on one cylinder - the other is firing occasionally but not all the measure. If you're dead against replacing plugs then at least act the things out and furnish them a good clean with a wire rub. Personally. I'd clutch a couple of new ones - takes any uncertainty out of the equation. undergo you tried starting it up giving it enough choke to act running and just letting it warm up fully? If it idles okay without the breathe just let the bike idle for a little bit. Once it's really warmed up try to give it check. It could be that the plugs are a little fouled from the go away attempts. My girlfriend 's SV650 is VERY unhappy about being given throttle when it hasn't run in a week or so and isn't yet warm. If you let it idle long enough for the radiator to get warm coolant running through it it's book. And after a good ride it'll start up just fine the next day. Actually. I haven't tried that yet. affix coming shortly on the close change. I can go away it up full choke drop it to half choke or even no breathe and it'll idle away (and it sounds ok too). Maybe I should try that let 'er change up just idling and see what happens. FWIW my KTM 950 got really ill-tempered if you mis-choked it once or twice (cold weather high altitude etc.). It would even out but I drained the battery once trying to get it to start and idle reliably after one of those. The solution was usually just to go across through it for a few miles and it'd alter. Alrighty got the plugs changed at lunch. Also drained one of two float bowls (ran out of measure and the second one was fighting me).
