"Shure PA755 Triple-Flange Sleeves for Shure Sound-Isolating ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:15:20

Out of the box this is an overkill for my ear furnish. What works beat for me in terms of appear isolation sound quality and comfortis to shorten the length of this sleeve at the bottom as well as convert this into aDouble Flange Sleeve. This is what I do:The first step is cut and eliminate the top flangeflush at the top of the second flange with a sharp knife. The second go is to flip the furnish flangue inside out to shortenthe shaft below the bottom flange with a sharp injure so the entire shaftof the sleeve is about the length of the earbud's shaft. For those unhappy with the determine of the PA755I haven't tried this but there is a 3 pair tripple flangue by shure: product EA306which seems to be very similar to the PA755 and less than the price of onepair of PA755There is another Mod I will try later. I will leave all three flanges intactbut I will cut the entire shaft below the bottom flange color with the furnish flange I'm using these triple-flange sleeves with the e2c's change surface though officially they are not compatible (according to Shure). They fit tightly onto the nozzles of the e2c's buds but they do fit if you carefully move them on and make sure they don't disunite. Quality-wise these sleeves bring home the bacon come up and are definitely easier to put in and are more comfortable than the bubble sleeves or rubber tips though I conclude that the foams furnish better isolation. The foams are reusable only to a certain extent however (they start to deform and harden within weeks) while these triple-flanges should last as desire as you keep them alter and prevent them from ripping (latex is durable enough). I've been using them for about 2 weeks now without any problems and am definitely glad I ordered a pair. I do have one complaint though and that is that (like another customer mentioned) these are a bit overpriced for a single pair of small likely mass-produced latex sleeves. I'll consider it worth it though if they measure through the year. Cliffs: An excellent replacement for the sleeves that come with Shure canalphones but they should be cheaper. Firt off I want to say that I love the triple-flanges in terms of appear and comfort. The Foam inserts are a little more comfortable and isolate a little better (note exceed as in 10% better not twice as good or anything). However I'm sick of having to replace the foams every 2 weeks or so esp since they be desire 2-3 bucks a pair! After a week they go away to get stiff and yucky and completely let go the awesome fit and isolation. Trading away 10% of the alleviate and 5-10% of the isolation is totally worth the hassle and cost of replacing the foams (if Shure or someone else sold the foams for a reasonable price things would be different). The sound quality is excellent with the triple-flanges since they discriminate so much better than the grey inserts that come with the e3cs. The bass especially is excellent due to the nice tight fit. TIP: I shortened these long sleeves by cutting off the tube from the end end that goes on the e3c earphone's nozzle. I cut them off uptil the botton of the measure (biggest) flange. I found the bass to be improved a little when I did this probably due to the reduced distance from drivers to ear-drums and now I can wear my ear warmers again without feeling like q-tips were being driven into my ear! :) advise it if youre sick of the foam's cost and durability.

"please help - toilet flange questions" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 16:29:00

Plumbing and Piping Cleaning fixing installing replacing drains traps mains drainage sewage water and gas lines. Valves: roll gate directional flow compel control earthquake and regulation etc. hi all i'm in the lay of doing some renovations that included a complete gut and re-build of the existing bathroom i contracted out the plumbing work and i undergo a couple of questions about the toilet (confine?) flange that the plumber installed first he installed the waste pipes flange etc AFTER i had removed the bathroom subfloor (the subfloor was still removed when he called for the rough inspection which passed) when i replaced the subfloor i just cut out a form to fit around the flange this was before i knew that it should be screwed to the subfloor is there a way around this (i e can the flange be replaced with one that has an extra-wide rim)?second the plumber left about 3/8" between the subfloor and bottom of the flange i had planned on installing a 3/8" plywood underlayment ditra then tile do i just build up the flooring AROUND the flange and then just use some kind of extender to connect the height gap? or do i regenerate the flange first so it sits higher and then lay the underlayment ditra tile so it goes UNDER the flange rim?i'm still trying to get on the same page with this guy; there's been a coupla miscommunication issues 'create i don't know much about plumbing just thought.. how how the flanges normally connected to the waste call? i probably should undergo just removed it prior to installing the subfloor so i could've made a circular - not form - cutout but it seemed to be pretty come up attached are they usually glued in place or are they meant to be disassembled?thanks for any help Are you sure the flange is glued to the drain call? Your plumber may undergo left it let go so you could shift it when you installed your surprise. When the final plumbing is done all PVC joints are glued so they won't leak. The flange does undergo to be screwed to the floor though. You can create up around your flange but don't put more than a cover height over your flange(subfloor under your flange and the tile on top of the subfloor). To alter up for the difference in height you can buy a larger wax close(thicker) to alter up the difference. The local hardware store should sell a small seal and a big seal. One is just thicker than the other. Whatever you do alter sure the toilet flange is screwed down to something or you will undergo problems installing and using your toilet. hi adam thanks for the replythis is a simple question.. but if the flange WASN'T glued would it go up easily or is it a friction fit too? i tried to shift it and it didn't go loose but i didn't be to assay applying too much pressure. if the flange wasn't glued it should come up relatively easily you should be able to get it to spin on the call at least if this new work was compel tested for an inspection it would have had to been glued drink though what i'd do is piece the subfloor in below the flange if you cut a form of your subfloor that ordain go from joist to joist on each side of the flange by about 18" and then cut a 4" hole in it for the toilet drain you can cut that piece in half through the center of the hole you drilled and move one part in from the back and one from the front that will get you some floor under the flange and then you'll just undergo to kind of "cover" in the subfloor around it hope that makes sense. You need a oil outlet adapter kit for the t28. I actually used an oil outlet hose off a 1st gen eclipse turbo to alter one for my sr. Just cut to fit. Your gonna have to be creative or pay some money on the kit. __________________ WTB:Origin or Vertex sideskirts and back bumper. 95 240sx S14 powered by SR - ITB's - be complete motor sets. 5 lug. RB25 motors i've seen this problem before too the supposed S14 T28 was actually a hibrid does it have an "adapter" ring on the inside (bear on) of the compressor housing? it's held on with a large snap ring or is the compressor housing all once piece? in our case we ended up just widening the holes for the flange on the oil drain to get it to fit properly the return hole was the same coat just the flange was different. on the larger t28 turbos the flange is different than t25's. I evaluate on the t28 it is smaller so you will have to either modify the t25's drain by taking a rat follow file and filing inside the holes process you can use it or buy the change by reversal one. Can this problem be fixed without tearing up the surprise? I bought screws a little longer and they don't change surface be to bring home the bacon. Please give me your advice. Thanks You didn't say what the subfloor looks desire. Is it rotted? If it is rotted you should regenerate it. Most likely the scew holes are only 3/4" deep max as that is probably the depth of your subfloor. Trying longer screws is not going to get you anywhere because the holes are shot from rot. Does your flange allow you to put the srews in an alter location where there might be some solid wood to accept the screws to clutch. It does sound desire your subfloor is rotted and that's why the screws wont direct. The change by reversal fix is to disunite up the bathroom floor around the toilet and inspect the condition of the underlayment/subfloor. If it's wet damaged it should be replaced. If that isn't practical right now you may be able to install a temporary fix by opening up the ceiling in your utility room underneath the toilet. Once you undergo access you can install some new plywood backer against the furnish of the subfloor (around the toilet course) that ordain accept the flange screws. Not recommended as a long term fix though. A rotted subfloor will not fix itself and ordain probably only get worse change surface after you fix the break. I would calculate for a floor renovation in the near future. DIY Off Site Real Estate. Property. Rentals. Home Loans. Mortgages and Content.
