I had the opportunity to go both approve to back on the track at DNW2007 Portland. Biggest difference is the grunt of the 1098 from low to high revs. The 999 is no slouch but the 1098 jumps out of corners that much faster.1098 also feels more raw the 999 being really change surface. Both have nice brakes and are very shelter. 1098 much much easier to turn in. Feel about the same mid corner. desire you said both are ducs and are really nice bikes!

(best I can remember not at home to check alter now)go height set at 285 mm eye to eye180 straighten tireNichols flywheelFull 57 mm Termi exhaust39 tooth straighten sprocketStock 15 tooth front sprocketSurflex slipper (might cause the rotational mass?)Other stuff that does not effect the air at handThe cater delivery is smooth up to 5 k then the fun starts when the thing starts waking up. 6th gear feels desire 5th used to before the Nichols flywheel. Above 5 K the power starts piling up quickly. Dynoed at 137. XX hp at 5,300 feet elevation in Bozeman Montana on a Dynojet. The ride turns in very quickly but is also very stable at go. I conclude more "in it than on it" with the displace lay height only about an inch I think. The 27 mm off set triple clamps bring the bars approve 9 mm which I like little guy at 5' 7". The suspension was dialed in and set up just for me by Matt when he was at Section 8.
