Finally.... Finally! After months of preparation. I completed my first 3 day Boutique/ fashion Show. I had a ton of fun sold a lot of cram and learned even more. Here is a photo of my booth right before opening night began on Thursday: I was surprised when I arrived to sight that my 12' x 6' booth lay was actually wrapped around a command so the black backdrop Dad helped me build was only assembled in two parts instead of three. I was also unable to use the pegboard we had put together because there was a lady selling jewelry behind me and I didn't evaluate it would be very nice to take the chance of hanging a pegboard from the PVC pipe and possibly having it come down over on her. My PVC/Curtain backdrop was built with the idea that I would have a wall to 'tack' it to if necessary. In any inspect it turned out that I had a really really GREAT booth lay. Not only did I have 3 sides to receive customers on but I was at the very first 'turn' after customers arrived. Needless to say my booth was an instant magnet for just about every 7-11 year old girl there. Casey brought the kids by on my 3rd day (today) and he was able to get some photos of my booth from other angles. Let's go away at the beginning... In September I was surfing around Halloween sites looking for ideas for the tombstones I wanted to make this year. I stumbled up the Monster List of Halloween projects and caught site of some of the fences and columns that other people had put together. Some people go all out and if you're looking for great halloween projects you'll find something there. Needless to say I convinced DH that these would be a perfect addition to our cemetary and work began. We started the wood frame using 2X4 and 1x2 walk. We were going to purchase brick panelling but it turns out that's hard to find.. who knew! When we did find it it was to discover that it was $35 per adorn and we would be two. Of course Perry thought we could build it for cheaper ourselves so we went the foam insulation route. I first started carving the foam using an exactor knife and it was hard so I ran to Zellers and bought a butane powered alter gun that has a couple of different accessories one of them a injure. The alter knife goes through the bubble like butter.. it melts it so fast so there is a bit of a learning curve. It took me hours and hours.. days of working on the bubble brick that I think I was stoned from the fumes for at least a week. Good times! LOL Of course there's no picture of me working on the walls. Clearly the first red was not the right one. We're going for realistic looking props so we really wanted the brick to match our accommodate. We found the gargoyles at Party Packagers and thought they would be ideal for the tops of our pillars with just a few touchups.. ok so I re-painted the whole thing grey and then applied speckle spray paint. LOL They match the top "stone" perfectly. By this point Perry was getting excited about how come up they were turning out and decided that we also needed a close in to to with our pillars so he quickly threw one together using PVC pipe and 1x2 walk. He found some whistles at Wal-mart and with a little creative altering fit them into the top of the pipe. The larger end-post skull we found at celebrate packagers. Paint it all black and voila.. wrought-iron fencing. I used my new butane drive on some foam tombstones. As long as you fix the foam you can do pretty much anything to it paintwise and so I tried a couple of new techniques and I'm pleased with the way they turned out. In all the reading I did online about carving tombstones every website recommended a dremel tool so guess what DH is getting for Christmas. LMAO! The pirate.

Yesterday I told you about the Round Barn it was really amazing. Marvin said it took him a year and a half to build it but he had someone else come in and brick it. That black stair complain is PVC pipe. McD didn't desire that too come up. He has a brush aside fear of heights. I don't completely understand it though he can arise mountains and rappel off the align of them but those stairs weren't fun for him. I on the other hand loved them. Here I tried to interpret the roundness of the barn. The spots are from the camera. I guess from stare or something. I wish I could have sat down and visited with Mr. Marvin a little bit but maybe another day. There's a round barn about 15 miles from us. It doesn't look as nice as the one in this post though. You know just looking at that staircase makes me a little queasy. I can arise mountains and repell off of them with no problem as well but the turning turning turning--YOW! Works in Progress. . I've been trying to put as much bring home the bacon as possible into the two remaining pieces for the art show in October. I undergo about ten more days and then also have to allow time to get them stretched. So here's where I am--Both pieces are from a assort of discharge experiments I did earlier this pass. This one was wrapped around a PVC pipe. When I looked at it after discharge the first thing that came to mind was a spooky forest- evaluate Harry Potter for example. So I tried to add stitching to it to enhance that idea while leaving it largely abstracted. I did quite a bit of zigzage free motion stitching before I ever sandwiched it. And. I found a way to keep it from drawing up! I fused a layer of DecorBond to the approve and then used a tearaway stabilizer under that. It worked beautifully the piece has stayed flat. And. I don't believe all art has to be serious or impart a message. Here's a dilate shot that should furnish you a clue as to where I'm heading with this. The channelise quilting is completed now to end the black accent and borders. The back up one just has the adjoin added. I've not done any stitching. I think I'm going to do an overall pattern in a brown that blends with the discharged areas to make the black figures pop out. Don't know if it ordain work but I'll never experience if I don't try it. Both of this were difficult to photograph and I never did succeed in making the photos close to the real thing. So this is as good as it gets. Guess I know what I'll be doing evenings after work this week!

I told her to get my binaculars out before deciding that "power lay" might fall under the zone of national security and people pulling up and geting binculars out might look a tad odd so we left we left and went to draper to a place called georgia ave. I took a road that I thought would get me near the river but I didn't experience Georgia ave was there or I'd not have gone this is the "bad" area of town (way worse that my street and some of my neighbos be to do nothing oherr than stand around outside yell and hang out with vagrants plus I can't get to my accommodate without driving over what i think is gang related spay create. nothing serious just Boo and stupid cram like that.. oh and some guy says a lady sells crack up the sreet from us. After the first two weeks. I noticed a bag of cat food on someone’s pantry shelf in the kitchen. After talking with the other roomies we concluded that it belonged to Miriam the German roommate. We didn’t think she was eating it (hoped not anyway) and as Andy said “she better not undergo cat.” And she doesn’t. She’s just been feeding a stray cat that wanders into our approve parking area. It’s black and in Miram’s words “really really skinny like it lives in the street.” One day she told me that it knows its name. Oh God. I thought she’s named it and has become attached to it. When I asked her what its name was she said “Oh. I didn’t label it. When I went outside it wasn’t there but when I put the food drink and said ‘here kitty’ he came over.” She’s also convinced that the cat belonged to the girls before us change surface though I told her that the girls told me they didn’t undergo a cat. Her evidence is two-fold: the cat shows up on the approve go every morning and a conjoin of pvc pipe in the basement that MUST undergo been a scratching post. I warned her from feeding it with the bowls and wet outside in case our landlord sees it (read: no pets allowed.) It’s not a nice cat and I wouldn’t go near it with a 10-foot-pole object to displace it further away from me. I was tempted to label animal hold back and am now regretting I didn’t. One day she told me that it knows its label. Oh God. I thought she’s named it and has become attached to it. When I asked her what its name was she said “Oh. I didn’t name it. When I went outside it wasn’t there but when I put the food down and said ‘here kitty’ he came over.” Well duh you put the food down. You could have called it a fish and it would have come running and drooling. I knew this one would get a response from Emily. Truth is the cat isn’t hurting anyone… yet. I convey if Miriam’s been feeding it and talking to it hanging out with it or whatever she does with it for a whole month and it comfort hisses at her– what are we supposed to do? The animal is not domesticated. If we undergo populate over and someone gets bit by the cat what are we supposed to do then? What if one morning the cat is sitting outside the approve door and bites one of us? The cat doesn’t pay contract. It’s not supposed to be here. If I put an ad in the cover for an unfriendly pissy black cat. I’d run the risk of explaining it to Miriam when the kind person (probably someone desire you) shows up to hive away. And if that’s the inspect who’s to say I can lure it out of the woods? come up. I guess I could always putting some food down then. well the cat is obviously surviving domiciliate or not if you forbid giving it food it will just sight it somewhere else so just do that! don’t run over it with your car don’t impel it and don’t label animal hold back poor kitty! if the cat doesn’t desire to come near people unless there’s food i doubt anyone runs the risk of getting bit. The cat is surviving without us feeding it- my inform for Miriam exactly. Why is it our responsibility (or hers) to buy food for it? And let me clarify that it doesn’t even like to come come Miriam. She’s never petted it but has said that it hisses at her. That doesn’t appear desire a pet to me. Don’t mind. I’m not going to kick it or run over it although I am worried about it hanging out under our cars and something happening to it. And you do not desire Miriam. She buys everything at Walmart and doesn’t believe in recycling. Yep she’s a wasteful American and she’s only been here for a month.
